Wardlaw Academy celebrated its annual Homecoming Week the week of September 21. The halls were filled with Patriot pride, spirit, and fun. From themed dress-up days to the pep rally and homecoming dance, it was a week full of unforgettable memories for our students and staff.
We started off our week with everyone’s favorite, Pajama Day! Students and staff loved coming to school in their cozy pajamas. Tuesday was Neon Day, with our social media caption being, “Let’s Glow
Crazy!” Our seniors had a lot of fun wearing their neon wigs. Wednesday brought Hat, Shades, and Jersey Day. Students wore everything from Clemson and Carolina jerseys, to Wardlaw jerseys, really showing their team spirit. On Thursday we had Hawaiian Day. I’m sure I saw some students hula dancing on their way to lunch. We finished the week with Patriot Pride Day on Friday. We had our game day pep rally, filled with lots of fun games. Afterwards, the varsity football team, cheerleaders and water girls joined together for their traditional pre-game prayer walk.
That evening our football team played King Academy. Our Patriots battled through the rain, illness and injury that night. Despite the loss, they showed great heart and effort and everyone was incredibly proud of their drive throughout the entire game. During halftime, the Homecoming Court was introduced and we crowned our 2025 Homecoming Queen Kathrine Trotter and our runner-up Taylor
Hill.
To finish off Homecoming Week, on Saturday we had our Homecoming Dance. All of the students showed up looking their very best and everyone’s favorite part of the night was the 360-degree photo booth. Students laughed as they picked props, struck poses, and danced to favorites like the Cupid
Shuffle.
Homecoming Week at Wardlaw Academy really brought out the best in our school. It was a week full of unforgettable memorie and reminded us all of the importance of school spirit and tradition and the
community that makes Wardlaw Academy special.
